Hi Jennifer,
I participated in one of your Ecstasy of Sound circles about 8 years ago. Great to see the new webpage!
I'm not sure if you realize it, the Contacts page comes up with a very nice picture of you--but no e-address or links to contact you, and I have something I'd like to send to you (no, I won't be spamming you, or sending a pile of jokes or anything... Just once in a while I'll have something I'd like to send to you that you may find of interest..)

Hi Jennifer,

What a FINE website. It is so beautiful and multi layered.

I've got a couple of things to share with this forum opportunity.
ONE is tremendous gratitude for your concerts and music over the years. I use parts of your body of work often with Women's Temple groups when I host. "The End of Desire" is an especially potent piece..one of many.
SECOND is more tremendous gratitude for your pioneering work of singing in sacred places and recording it to share with others. Four years ago I spent a couple of weeks with eighteen women in Malta singing and celebrating the Goddess in her ancient temples. To find your CD "Returning" upon my coming home was like listening to Rimpoches sing their root teacher back into incarnation. Your singing like that in the Hypogeum was a wave of Grace.

I am an artist and have completed one painting in a series that I am doing of the Goddess in Malta. I would like to email you a jpg image of the piece since your music was such an inspiration and I think that you might really appreciate it.

So glad you have this great website so the sound can go on and on.
Thanks for what you do!
Zoe

Love your new site, Jennifer!

I'm thrilled you're doing a retreat in the Yukon this year, and so bummed I can't join you (I'm in school full time this fall) after dreaming about such a pilgrimage for over 8 years. Jill looks like an amazing trekking and circle leader, and song and silence practice will be divine in that special place. I hope it is an incomparable experience for everyone lucky enough to go this year, and that I'll have to sign up in February to land a spot for September '09!

Sisters, please call me into circle this September in Whitehorse, my heart will be there with you.

Blessings,

Laura B.

I was introduced to your music just this year. I took ReTurning with me for my mother to listen to as she was dying, and it seemed to soothe her during her last days. I wrote this for her memorial service:

Take My Little Hand

for Mom

On the road to Longview
I keep hearing
Chubby Checker sing
Come on baby
let’s do the twist
come on baby
let’s do the twist
take me by my little hand
and go like this...

I remember you
so happy
showing us how to twist
and all the happiness
I’ve enjoyed in dancing
flows from that first lesson.
So you are always my partner
taking my little hand
and I keep going, Mom.

On the road to Longview
I keep seeing
the picture you once drew
a cottage with red roses
wild in the yard.
Hope seemed to live
in what your hand could do
with a pencil and crayons.
So when my time came
to navigate the darkness
that proved
such a nemesis to you
I took up the instruments
you laid down
and with color and line
I try to find my way.

Sitting next to you
in Longview
I put my earbuds
in your ears
so you can listen
to Jennifer Berezan chanting.
Returning
returning

she sings
returning
returning
to the mother of us all.

Sitting next to you
I take your diminished hand
and listen as your breath
in and out
turns quietly into song
Yah-hay
yah-hay
yah-hay.

Sitting near you
I witness mother
by daughter
by grand-daughter
and I pray
somewhere nearby
your mother watches over
your last rebirth
urging you to breathe through.

Yah-hay
yah-hay
yah-hay

you sing into the night
until you knit
your eyebrows slightly
and then return
to the mother who loves you
the mother of us all.

Thank you for your work,

I just wanted to say that I think your work is fantastic.
You and Julia Butterfly Hill are my models, even tho I am a lot older than you. I am wanting to jump into life and really participate using the good values that come natural to me: living sustainably, spiritually awake, being kind...
PRAISES is totally amazing, it brings me immediately to my heart--where I want to live; and RETURNING is great too, a reminder to be in my feminine side.
Good for you.
Freya
PS I hope your trip to Canada with Joanna Macy went well.
